Dr. Jelfina C. Alouw, Executive Director, and Mr. Alit Pirmansah, Statistics and Marketing Officer of ICC, visited Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC), Jakarta on 2nd July and had a courtesy meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro.
The team of officers of ICC welcomed by HE and the team of officers of NAMCSSTC. In her address, Dr. Jelfina expressed that this is the beginning of the relationship between ICC and the NAM CSSTC, and ICC is looking forward to strengthening the relationship. Executive Director presented and explained the activities of ICC and its collaboration with other member countries and research institutes. Executive Director mentioned the different benefits extended by ICC to the member countries and potential partnerships with such institutes. Executive Director further added that due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, ICC had to postpone its scheduled activities for the year 2020. Still, ICC is conducting webinars in association with the ICC Technical Working Group, Scientific Advisory Committee on Health, and COGENT on the present problems of the coconut industry around the Globe. Executive Director advised that if NAM CSSTC can be associated and collaborate with ICC in conducting online training and webinar for the welfare of the coconut stakeholders.
His Excellency Ambassador, Mr. Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro, appreciated the activities of ICC and expressed his willingness to be part of the online training and webinar. He suggested that ICC and NAM CSSTC can execute a Term of Reference (ToR) for the collaboration. There was in-depth interaction with both the team of officers on different aspects of the development of the coconut industry in Indonesia.
