Memorandum of Understanding and Partnership Agreement executed between Dr. Jefina C. Alouw, Executive Director, International Coconut Community and Mr. Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro, Director, Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation, on Friday the 24th July at ICC Secretariat, Jakarta.
The main objective and purpose of this MoU is to express the willingness of the Parties to engage in effort to promote the competitiveness of coconut products as well as relevant activities to develop and expand relationships with countries that coconuts are source from and to provide a framework for cooperation and coordination between Parties in achievement of mutual goals.
The Memorandum concerns the cooperation between the Parties on: Training & Visits; Research and Development; Capacity-Building Programmes; Seminars; and Webinars.
In addition, a partnership agreement also executed between both the organisations on “Stay Healthy and Productive During Covid-19 Pandemic” Webinar and Training Projects”. The agreement is created and conducted for the purpose of: Providing coconut production information and resources; Encouraging farmers to increase production of coconut; Training farmers to produce high-quality income products; Promoting the positive influence of coconut products; Collaborating with coconut industry stakeholders.
In the first phase of the implementation of the MoU and agreement, online training on “Processing and Marketing of Nata de coco” is proposed to be conducted during the second week of August 2020.
At the outset, Dr. Jelfina and the team of ICC Secretariat welcomed His Excellency Ambassador, Mr. Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro, Director, Non-Aligned Movement Centre for South-South Technical Cooperation, His Excellency Ambassador Diar Nurbiantoro, and the team. Both the team expressed that this is the beginning of the relationship between the organizations and shall collaborate for a long-term cooperation for the welfare of the coconut stakeholders of the country.
