The old "Copra Route" does not favour the diversification of the coconut industry into new food products. 

Whole fresh coconuts, as a raw material, opens up many opportunities for production of high value coconut products. 

The coconut flavour is highly appreciated by consumers world-wide and coconut products such as coconut cream, coconut water, virgin oil, etc., are finding an increasing acceptance and market. 

New techniques have made available "long life" aseptic products in consumer or bulk packages produced in hygienic dairy-type plants using similar equipment. 

Using a concept known as MINI DAIRY for the processing of rural milk, similar small coconut cream plants can be supplied for local communities where the source of the raw material and the market are closely related.
