Coconut and its products enjoy both domestic and export demands. The bulk of the produce is. however, consumed within the country leaving only 0.75% of the total production for export. Although diverse products are made out of coconut, the industry faces various constraints in the production, processing and marketing sectors. The strategic inputs required for rejuvenating the domestic coconut industry have been discussed.
