For years copra making in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, follows the traditional smoke drying process. Recently, a group of farmers have embarked into making superior quality of copra by using modem indirect hot air dryer. This paper briefly discusses the underlying motivation of the farmers in improving copra quality. The paper also describes the business rationale and the advantages from this improved copra quality for buyers.
