In nature, most processes are cyclic. They therefore display stability and sustainability. When applied to an agricultural production system, this translates into minimum degradation or loss of non-renewable resources, optimum use of the products; and the least degree of waste of materials or the release of polluting wastes.  For a crop with a multitude of uses, the challenge should be a comparatively easy one. The opportunities available for optimising the use of coconut products is the main therne of this presentation.  Integrated production processes deserve to be revisited in the light of technological advances which significantly alter their economic viability.
