International trade in coconut products is discussed with reference to the role of a multinational commodity company. The fundamentals of international trade are discussed in the context of findings about the comparative /competitive  advantage  of co conut production. Principal trade flows are indicated, and types of trade barriers,  tariff  and non  tariff  are considered. The possibilities of change are discussed, particularly with reference to the GATT ruling on the EEC’s oilseeds regime.
