The study of coconut tissue culture technique in Indonesia is a component of coconut development programme. The research started with the coconut embryo culture for the purpose of seed multiplication and seed transportation. The research findings up to now has been successful in forming plantlet from the embryo culture. But its transplanting in polybag or in the field, is still a problem. It was found out that the Eeuwens medium represent a suitable medium for the embryo culture compared to Murashige and Skoog (MS) and several other media. The in vitro vegetative  propagation research using tissue of fruit bunches and stem pith tissue has not succeeded to form a perfectly complete plant.
