Coconut in Sri Lanka is affected  by several diseases of known aetiology. They are: But Rot disease caused by Phytophthora palmivora, stem bleeding disease caused by Ceratocystis paradoxa, leaf blight disease and Ganoderma bole rot caused by fungi of polyporaceae. These diseases do not cause much concern and can be managed easily, primarily through adoption of proper cultural practices. Leaf Scorch Decline is a disorder prevalent in certain areas of Sri Lanka with incidence of less than 1%.
